1. School History, Educational Philosophy, Faculty and Campus Information
History
Kyoritsu Japanese Language Academy traces its origins back to the Japanese language programme established by Tokyo Dome Gaigo Gakuin in 1986. In 2003, the institution was renamed Tokyo Academy Japanese Language School and later developed into Kyoritsu Japanese Language Academy as it is known today.
With nearly four decades of experience in Japanese language education for international students, the academy has built a diverse student community representing many countries around the world.
Today, the school enrols more than 700 students, including a significant number of Vietnamese learners. This creates a multicultural learning environment while still providing strong support for students adapting to life in Japan for the first time.
Educational Philosophy
Kyoritsu Japanese Language Academy aims to help students develop balanced proficiency in all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. At the same time, the curriculum provides a solid foundation for progression to Japanese universities, vocational colleges (Senmon Schools), and graduate schools.
The academy focuses not only on language education but also on student welfare, career guidance, and successful integration into Japanese society.
The school's philosophy is to support students throughout their academic journey, from their first day in Japan until they achieve their educational and professional goals.
Faculty
One of the academy's distinctive features is its homeroom teacher system. Each class is assigned a dedicated homeroom teacher who closely monitors students' academic progress, attendance, and daily life.
The teaching staff are recognised for their enthusiasm, commitment, and extensive experience in educating international students. This support system enables students to seek advice easily whenever they encounter academic or personal challenges.
Campus Information
The main campus is located in Yushima, Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo, an area well known for its concentration of universities, educational institutions, and convenient transportation links.
