Tohoku Song Da Joint Stock Company is now accepting applications for the Zensho Restaurant Scholarship Programme at Tokyo World Japanese Language School for the 2027 intakes.
The programme is open to men and women aged 18 or over who have completed upper secondary education and wish to combine Japanese language study with part-time work in Japan.

HOW MUCH IS THE ZENSHO SCHOLARSHIP WORTH?
The scholarship is funded by Zensho Holdings, the group behind major Japanese restaurant brands including Sukiya and Nakau.

PART-TIME WORK AT ZENSHO RESTAURANTS
As part of the programme, students are placed at restaurants within the Zensho group, such as Sukiya and Nakau.
According to the current programme information:

Average pay is approximately ¥1,386 per hour.

Working hours are arranged according to the scholarship programme schedule.

Students receive job training before travelling to Japan.

Actual earnings depend on the location and number of hours worked each month.
Combining Japanese language study with part-time work gives students an opportunity to use Japanese in a practical working environment while becoming more familiar with everyday life in Japan.
SCHOLARSHIP PERIOD
The scholarship applies during the first year of the programme.
Depending on academic performance and the programme's assessment, the scholarship may be extended for up to a further six months.
The maximum participation period under the scholarship programme is 1 year and 6 months.
CONDITIONS FOR MAINTAINING THE SCHOLARSHIP
Students are required to comply with the programme's conditions, including:

Following the school's rules and regulations.

Working at the designated workplace.

Not taking unauthorised leave from school or work.

Paying tuition fees on time.
