YOMIURI SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR APRIL 2027 INTAKE

Tohoku Song Da Joint Stock Company is pleased to announce the recruitment of students for the Yomiuri Scholarship Program at Tokyo World Japanese Language School for the April 2027 intake.

This scholarship programme is designed for students who wish to study in Japan with a lower financial burden while securing stable employment through newspaper delivery work arranged by the Yomiuri newspaper network.

ADMISSION INFORMATION

Intake

• April 2027 Intake

Application Period

• Applications are accepted until all available places are filled.

• Early applicants will be given priority for Japanese language training and pre-departure vocational training.

Available Places

• Limited quota allocated by the Yomiuri newspaper partners in Japan.

SCHOOL FEES PAYABLE

Notes

• The security deposit of 120,000 Yen will be refunded after graduation and once the student's future pathway has been confirmed.

• These fees are payable directly to the school in accordance with the scholarship programme regulations.

MONTHLY INCOME

After arriving in Japan, students will undertake newspaper delivery work assigned by the sponsoring newspaper company.

After deductions for:

• Accommodation

• Electricity and gas charges

• Income tax

Students can expect to receive approximately:

110,000 Yen per month

This is equivalent to approximately USD 700–750 per month, depending on exchange rates.

SCHOLARSHIP CONTRACT PERIOD

• Initial contract period: 1 year

• The contract may be extended until graduation from the Japanese language programme.

For students entering in April:

• The scholarship programme may continue for approximately 2 years.

After completing the Japanese language course, students are expected to:

• Progress to a vocational college, university, or postgraduate programme in Japan; or

• Return to their home country.

PRE-DEPARTURE REQUIREMENTS

Before travelling to Japan, students must:

• Complete Japanese language training in Vietnam.

• Participate in newspaper delivery vocational training organised by Tokyo World Japanese Language School.

• Achieve Japanese language proficiency equivalent to JLPT N4 level.

Students who fail to maintain satisfactory attendance or demonstrate an appropriate attitude during the training period may lose their scholarship eligibility or school admission status.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Age

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Educational Background

• Completion of at least 12 years of formal education.

Health Requirements

Applicants must be in good physical condition and free from chronic illnesses such as:

• Tuberculosis

• Hepatitis B

• Mental health disorders

• Any medical condition that may affect newspaper delivery duties

Additional Requirements

• No tattoos

• Strong sense of responsibility and discipline

• Commitment to fulfilling contractual obligations

• Willingness to study Japanese seriously and consistently

Preferred Applicants

• Applicants holding a motorcycle driving licence will be given preference.

CIRCUMSTANCES LEADING TO SCHOLARSHIP CANCELLATION

The scholarship may be withdrawn if a student:

• Withdraws from school or leaves employment without approval

• Maintains an attendance rate below 90%

• Takes additional part-time jobs outside the designated newspaper work

• Is absent from work without permission

• Receives repeated complaints from customers regarding job performance

• Provides false information during the application process

• Violates Japanese laws

• Violates school regulations or newspaper company rules

• Is deemed unsuitable for continued participation in the programme
